Tesifa Coffee offers special training for workers from non-profit/NGO organizations, cafes with a focus on social impact and kingdom focused workers. The cost of these trainings are sublimated through fundraising and financial support specific for Non-profit work. Our mission is to provide professional quality coffee training to workers serving their communities. We have created a program that can be customized to your need and travel abilities. Introduction to Coffee, Foundation Barista Skills and Foundation Brewing are three courses that can be taken via distance learning. The next step is Intermediate level learning for Barista and Brewing, which is done in a week long course in Cyprus. We are also happy to work with you and your team to arrange special trainings as needed. Read below for details on each course and course fees.

Introduction to Coffee is the perfect place to start for those looking to get a broad understand of the world of Coffee. Whether you have been in the industry for years or just exploring your caffiene dream, you will learn something in this course. You will get a basic view over the whole coffee industry.

This course is part of the Coffee Skills program by Specialty Coffee Association. At the successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate and progress towards a coffee diploma.

Brewing Foundation
Brewing foundation begins exploring various brew methods and proper brew processes for each one. You will begin to understand how to control various elements to the brew process to efffect the outcome of your coffee brewing. Coffee tastes like more than coffee, you will be introduce to the process of sensory evaluation and begin to notice the potential your coffee brewing has.

*Students will need to have access to different brew devices to do some of the at home assignments. Immersion (Aeropress or French Press) and Gravity (Automatic Brewers or Pour Overs – V60, Chemex, Kalita, etc).
This course is part of the Coffee Skills program by Specialty Coffee Association. At the successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate and progress towards a coffee diploma.

Barista Skills Foundation
Barista Skills Foundation enters into the cafe world. In recent years, the coffee shop industry has exploded world wide and many people start their first jobs behind an espresso bar. What does it take to move from starting vocation to artistry? Through this course, you will gain understanding of every step of the espresso process and how to practice your skill. The first basic to understand, espresso is a brew method with it’s own specialized technique, not a variety or special roast of coffee.

- Workspace Management and Worflow
- Espresso Process: Grind, Dose, Tamp
- Extraction and Brewing
- Sensory
- Milk
- Espresso Based Menu

*Students do NOT need to have access to an espresso machine in order to complete the requirements of this class, though it is recognized. It is possible to demonstrate the skill comprehension through distance instruction or in person if attending the Coffee Bootcamp.
This course is part of the Coffee Skills program by Specialty Coffee Association. At the successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate and progress towards a coffee diploma.
*Minimum of 2 students for a course to run. Additional course can be arranged as needed.

Coffee Bootcamp
Tesifa Coffee Bootcamp is a combination of Brewing and Barista Skills Intermediate courses. It is 6 days of intensive learning and practical application. Your Brewing skills will move to the next level as you learn how to evaluate the extraction percentage during the brew process. This will help you understand how to adjust your brew recipe per device, species of coffee and roasting profile. Through Barista Skills, you will practice latte art and your service skills. Also putting into practice developing brew recipes specific to your coffee beans. We will go further in depth in understanding elements of equipment in the cafe world.
Our Bootcamp also features discussions of how to use coffee in the world of outreach and impact in our communities. You will belong to a network of people that believe coffee is a great tool to make a difference and build relationships in this world.
*To attend the Coffee Bootcamp, you must first complete Intro to Coffee, Barista Skills and Brewing Foundation.
This course is part of the Coffee Skills program by Specialty Coffee Association. At the successful completion of this course, students will receive two intermediate certificates and progress towards a coffee diploma.
